The Security Service of Ukraine exposed an underground group of former communists in Cherkasy, which was in place with the support of Russian special services. According to the SBU, the group was organized by the experting communist Petro Symonenko, who after the beginning of the war fled to Russia together with the Russian special forces.
The group consisted of former Communist Party representatives, including exndacards and ideological functionaries. They justified Russia's military crimes, including Ohmatdit rocket strike and massacres in Bucha.
In addition to the propaganda, the attackers prepared letters to Vladimir Putin, which expressed support for the Russian dictator and called for the restoration of the USSR.
