The Security Service of Ukraine conducted a brilliant operation to detain two Russian agents who tried to organize a sabotage in the territory of Odessa region. Their goal is to damage the railway track, which could lead to a freight train. Due to the promptness of Ukrainian special services, the tragedy was prevented.
The attackers were two local boys, only 17 and 18 years of age. As the SBU found out, they sought fast earnings through telegrams. There they were recruited by a representative of the Russian special services, who gave clear instructions for the crime.
It was planned to damage the railway track by disassembled part of it and inserting the metal fittings into the joints of the rails. The purpose of the attack was not only the harm of transport logistics, but also to create panic among the local population.
The surgery to prevent the terrorist attack was performed at night. When the suspects have not yet implemented their plan, they were detained at the crime scene.
According to the SBU, this sabotage attempt has a direct connection with previous terrorist attacks organized by Russian agents. In January this year, the SBU detained the Russian agent, who prepared the undermining of the building of the Armed Forces in Odesa region.
The coordinator of both terrorist attacks was the same representative of the Russian special services. Its purpose is to destabilize the situation in the region, to harm infrastructure and to sow panic among civilians.
