The 2025/2026 academic year, by resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, began on September 1, 2025 and should last until June 30, 2026; at the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers published a recommended vacation schedule, which schools can adjust in accordance with the decisions of pedagogical councils.
According to the recommendations, the approximate dates of school holidays are as follows: autumn - from October 27 to November 2, 2025; winter - from December 27, 2025 to January 11, 2026 (some schools may have a longer break); spring - from March 23 to 29, 2026; summer - approximately from June 1, 2026 until the start of the new academic year. The final schedule and duration are approved by the pedagogical council of each educational institution.
Dates may change depending on the regional epidemic and security situation. Local education departments, together with schools, have the right to postpone or extend the holidays if conditions require it (for example, a disease outbreak or quarantine restrictions). Parents are advised to follow official announcements from their school and local education department.
