influenza and acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) is rapidly increasing in Ukraine . According to official data, in the week from February 10 to 16 more than 206 thousand people , 60% of whom were children .

According to the Ministry of Health, the spread of the influenza virus has been recorded in 21 regions of the country. Experts predict that by April, influenza will be the main cause of seasonal respiratory diseases, surpassing coronavirus infection in prevalence.
During the week, 206,653 people fell ill with SARS, influenza, and COVID-19, 60% of whom were children. Severe complications led to the hospitalization of 2,130 adults and 3,276 children.
Due to the threat of an epidemic, anti-epidemic measures are being partially implemented in 16 regions. In each region, decisions will be made by regional commissions on technogenic and environmental safety and emergencies (TEB and NS).
In particular, it is possible:
- Transferring schools to distance learning - both individual classes and the entire educational institution;
- Limiting the number of visitors in public places - libraries, museums, cinemas, shopping malls, etc.;
- Introduction of a mask regime in healthcare facilities and public transport;
- Strengthening disinfection measures in schools, offices, and retail establishments.
These measures are designed to contain the spread of infection and stabilize the epidemic situation.
The Ministry of Health emphasizes that annual vaccination is the most effective way to prevent influenza and COVID-19. You can get vaccinated not only at the beginning, but also throughout the epidemic season.

As of February 16, 109,913 Ukrainians had been vaccinated against the flu. The flu vaccine is available in pharmacies, and the COVID-19 vaccine can be obtained in medical facilities across the country.
Experts recommend that citizens carefully observe hygiene, avoid crowded places, and consult a doctor at the first symptoms of illness.
