A World War II-era shell was found during fieldwork in the Buchanskyi district

In the village of Shybene, in the Buchansky district of the Kyiv region, a farmer discovered a suspicious object during agricultural work, which, as it later turned out, turned out to be a mine from the Second World War.

The press service of the Mobile Rescue Center of Rapid Response of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported about the incident. According to the sappers, the dangerous find was removed by specialists after an operational visit to the site.

"The incident occurred directly during agricultural work. Pyrotechnicians quickly arrived at the scene. After examining the territory, it was determined that the object found was an 82 mm mortar mine, which had been lying in the ground for over 70 years," the State Emergency Service reported.

The projectile was removed and sent to a special landfill for further controlled destruction.

Rescuers emphasize: if suspicious objects are discovered, they should not be touched, moved, or disassembled. Finds should be reported immediately to the State Emergency Service or the police.
