The Verkhovna Rada is preparing to introduce significant amendments to the Tax Code, which will require mandatory identification of all sellers on online platforms. The corresponding bill No. 13232 has already been registered in the parliament. This was stated by MP Nina Yuzhanina in a comment for UNN.
According to her, the innovations should eliminate contradictions in relations between tax authorities, platforms, and sellers, as well as make it impossible to evade taxes through anonymous trading.
"Currently, on many platforms, in particular OLX, the seller only needs to indicate the name, phone number and price of the product. After the changes are approved, the platforms will be required to collect full personal data of sellers: full name, date of birth, address, registration number of the taxpayer's account card, as well as a confirmed bank card," the deputy emphasized.
Such changes, Yuzhanina notes, are related to the implementation of the EU directive on the automatic exchange of tax information between tax authorities and e-commerce platforms.
It is assumed that verification of bank cards will also be carried out through the relevant financial institutions.
The Verkhovna Rada explains that currently the tax office often loses in courts regarding additional tax assessments to online sellers precisely because of the imperfect identification system. The new norm should eliminate such gaps.
