The average salary in central state bodies is 3.4 times higher than the average level in Ukraine

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine accepted data on the average level of wages in state bodies, local administrations and judicial authorities for November 2024. According to statistics, employees of central authorities received an average of 62,000 hryvnias per month.

This is 61% more than at the beginning of the year, when the average salary of civil servants was 38.6 thousand hryvnias. In general, the wages of 21,700 employees of the state apparatus are more than three times higher than the national average. In September, the average salary in Ukraine was 18,000 hryvnias.

Employees of the Antimonopoly Committee received the highest average salary in November - 118.7 thousand hryvnias. 268 people work in this department, and the salary of the management reaches 215 thousand hryvnias.

In second place is the Ministry of Justice, where the average salary is 100.5 thousand hryvnias for 997 employees. At the same time, the department recently got into a scandal due to the hacking of state registers.

The third place is occupied by the Central Election Commission, which actually does not perform active functions during the war due to the absence of elections. Employees of the CEC receive an average of 97.2 thousand hryvnias, and the salary of the management is the highest among all state bodies - 310.3 thousand hryvnias per month for 18 people.

In the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers, the average salary is 65.5 thousand hryvnias. In total, 672 people work there, and the management receives 132.9 thousand hryvnias.

The sharp increase in officials' salaries comes against the background of economic difficulties caused by the war. Despite the fact that the state apparatus continues to function under the conditions of a state of emergency, the level of remuneration in some departments causes discussions about its feasibility in the current situation.
