Yesterday, a scandalous incident related to an attack on journalists took place at the Rulka restaurant in the Carpathian region. Serhiy Sayv, head of the State Migration Service of Ukraine in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, attacked representatives of the StopKor investigative journalistic project.
Instead of frank answers to journalists' questions, there was open aggression. The media arrived in Prykarpattia to interrogate the official about his declared assets and possible business connections.
According to insider information that the editorial office received from its own sources, every Thursday evening, Saiv allegedly holds "working meetings" with district leaders at this institution in the village of Dzvinyach.
In addition, in the spring of this year, Serhiy Stepanovych published his own income declaration for 2023. From this document it became known that the head of the migration service of Prykarpattia owns a household with a land plot in the village of Dzvinyach and the trailer “Dnister”.
But the wife of official Bohdan Sayiv declared over a million hryvnias in income from entrepreneurial activity, 756 thousand hryvnias in salary from LLC “S-Kapitel”, 235 thousand hryvnias in payments from “Prykarpatenergotrade” and almost 720 thousand hryvnias in income from leasing land. In addition, Bohdan Sayiv owns 8 land plots, 4 apartments, 2 houses, as well as premises of a shopping complex, industrial buildings and non-residential premises.
Arriving at the restaurant, StopKor journalists recorded on video how Serhiy Sayv arrived there in a Tesla car, which is not in his official declaration.
The official got out of the car with a large stack of papers in his hands. It is noteworthy that according to the payment document (check), the institution supposedly belongs to the son of the head of the State Medical Service of Prykarpattia (Saiv O.S.). However, the civil servant himself told reporters that he supposedly did not know who the owner of “Rulka” was.
Moreover, upon seeing the film crew, Serhiy Stepanovych began to hide from the reporters, and then suddenly attacked the media personnel and knocked the camera out of the operator's hands, which stopped working after his blow.
“ Our group worked according to the editorial assignment. We wanted to ask Mr. Saiv several questions – primarily regarding his considerable real estate. And also regarding the weekly meetings in this restaurant of his subordinates. We found Serhiy Stepanovych in the establishment during the working day. At the beginning of the conversation, we introduced ourselves, showed our ID and a microphone with the name of our media outlet. To which he reacted aggressively, attacking and hitting the camera, which is an obstruction of the legitimate professional activities of a journalist Ihor Dotsenko said from the scene .
A police group called by the Stopkor group has now arrived at the scene of the incident. Serhiy Sayv was hiding in a restaurant. Law enforcement officers from police station No. 2 (Bogorodchany village) of the Ivano-Frankivsk district police department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Ivano-Frankivsk region accepted and registered a statement under the number EO 2288 dated 18.07.24 on the fact of an attack on journalists.
