According to preliminary forecasts by weather forecasters, the weather in Ukraine in December 2024 will generally be within normal limits, and no serious frosts are expected in the middle of the month. The weather will be dynamic, with periodic temperature changes, but severe cold snaps that could seriously affect life everywhere are unlikely.
This was announced during a briefing by the spokeswoman for the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, Natalia Ptukha.
Experts indicate that the first decade of December will be marked by fairly stable weather. However, changes are possible in the second decade. In particular, forecasters note that the passage of cyclones from the southwest may lead to an increase in temperature indicators, especially in the southern regions of Ukraine.
“But, since Ukraine is a seasonal country, we do not rule out the possibility of sharp cold snaps. This is winter, and we should be prepared for it,” the forecaster emphasizes.
At the same time, representatives of the Ukrhydrometeorological Center are monitoring the so-called polar vortex - stratospheric flows that can lead to cold snaps in Europe. However, at this time, weather forecasters are not predicting significant frosts, and such cold waves should not be expected in Ukraine.
The forecast for the second decade of December predicts more active atmospheric fronts, which will bring not only windier weather, but also precipitation. Alternating periods of calm weather and more intense winter manifestations, including ice, are expected, which may occur depending on air temperature and region.
“If the temperature is above zero, expect rain, if below zero, expect snow,” the forecaster notes. In view of this, citizens are advised to follow current warnings from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
