The Ukrainian Defense Forces have destroyed a Russian-made Shahed drone equipped with an online control system. According to radio technology specialist Sergei "Flash" Beskrestnov, the drone was heading to attack one of the important Ukrainian substations.
A distinctive feature of the downed aircraft was the presence of a Chinese-made camera and a radio modem that provided stable communication. This allowed the operator not only to adjust the flight in real time, but also to conduct reconnaissance, select moving targets, and deliver more precise strikes.
" This is not a mobile connection, but a specialized radio modem ," the expert emphasized, explaining the principle of the system's operation.
Earlier, analysis of the wreckage of downed Shaheds showed that Russian engineers began to massively equip drones with mesh modems and course cameras. Such modifications were first recorded in July on Gerber foam drones. In August, the cases became systematic, and since the beginning of September, experts have been talking about the serial implementation of these technologies.
Experts warn: such modernization makes the Shahed even more dangerous, because the operator can control the flight and adjust the target during the attack.
