In Khmelnytskyi, the court found a 19-year-old boy in fraud, whose victim was a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the Regional Prosecutor's Office, the new moon looked for his acquaintance for almost half a million hryvnias. He was sentenced to three years in prison for this crime.
From November 2022 to March 2023, the attacker, using a fake account on one of the social networks, led active correspondence with the Ukrainian military who was in the war zone. The young man seemed to be a woman who allegedly needed urgent treatment.
The victim, believing in the sincerity of the fictional interlocutor, has repeatedly transferred her money - in total almost 500 thousand hryvnias. Only when the amount became critical, did the man decide to check who actually got the money. With the help of one of the messengers, he managed to expose deception: his acquaintance was his acquaintance on the other side of the correspondence.
The court sentenced the boy in the form of 3 years in prison. The sentence has not yet entered into force and may be appealed.
