The Law on Mobilization, which will come into force on May 18, establishes new requirements for updating military registration data of Ukrainians. Attorney Mykola Maksymov reported that citizens who do not update their data at the Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) within two months will face consequences.
Conscripts are given 60 days to update their information after the law is passed. If the person does not appear at the CCC, this structure will contact the police to put them on the wanted list. The function of searching for draft evaders is assigned to the police two months after the law comes into force.
“If the CCC contacts the police to deliver a wanted person, an administrative detention occurs. Coercive measures may be applied in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offenses, and the person is delivered to the CCC,” Maksimov explained.
If the conscript is not found, the police will report this to the CCC, and a court case will be filed. The court may impose a fine of up to 25,000 hryvnias on the violator and ban them from using transport.
If the fine is not paid, the enforcement procedure will be applied. Property may be seized or the evader's card accounts may be blocked.
As a reminder, updating military registration data will be available online through the conscript's electronic account, which is being developed by the Ministry of Defense.
