According to estimates by American analysts from The New York Times, Ukraine may be able to hold out for a certain period of this year without an increase in military aid from the United States. However, such a course of action will negatively affect the prospects for the restoration of the Ukrainian army.
According to the publication, this moment is the most dangerous for Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war. The New York Times notes that Ukraine will not be immediately defeated without American help, but there is a significant risk that it will run out of equipment and ammunition to replenish its forces. Analysts believe that European countries do not have enough means to provide Ukraine with such a level of support.
The absence of further American aid, according to experts, may indicate a serious deterioration of the situation in the second half of this year. The reduction in aid affects the battlefield, where Russia uses its superiority in artillery and manpower to break through Ukraine's defenses.
It is worth noting that part of the American package of military and financial aid, frozen in Congress, will not be fully directed to new weapons for Ukraine. Some of it will be used to replace already delivered weapons from American arsenals, and other funds will be used for maintenance, spare parts, training and other needs.
We will remind you that the vote on the draft law on financing aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan will take place on Thursday, February 8, although without migration reform and border security.
