What is celebrated in Ukraine and the world on June 25 and what should not be done this day

On June 25, Ukraine and the world celebrate several important events, including international dates, professional honoring and popular beliefs. Despite the calendar summer, this day does not have a very easy energy content in the traditional idea.

In the International Calendar, the date is dedicated to the Unity of the Slavs - a feast, which is intended to emphasize the common cultural roots of the Eastern European peoples. It is celebrated in several states - in particular in Ukraine, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria and other countries where Slavic languages and traditions have a historical basis.

Also, on June 25, there are less well -known but symbolically important international dates: sailor's Day, Vitiligo Disease Day, Color TV Day. In some Muslim countries, the Islamic New Year begins this day - a holiday with a moving date, which is determined by the lunar calendar.

In Ukraine today is a professional holiday of customs workers. It is difficult to overestimate their role in ensuring national security, economic control and fighting smuggling, especially in war. Customs officers are responsible not only for compliance with procedures, but also for identifying the risks associated with the import of potentially dangerous goods.

In the church calendar, the date is associated with the honor of the icon of the Virgin Mary "Liberator" and the martyr of Fevronia. In the communities that use the old style, on June 25, they remember St. Peter Athos and hermit of Onufri the Great.

The folk tradition in Ukraine has given this date special attention. On the day of Fevronia, as it was called in the people, it was forbidden to swim in reservoirs - it was believed that the mermaids of this day were especially dangerous. This belief caused considerable caution: the reservoirs went by the side, and the children were kept away from rivers and lakes. The couple was recommended to spend the day together, in household chores - it is not to bring consent and strengthen marriage.

Among the signs preserved to this day, the most famous are those concerning the weather: if the heat-July will be hot, if the rain is mowing-the bad weather will last for a few days, and the fastening frogs herald a heavy drain.

Particular attention was paid to what should not be done. It was forbidden to swear, say, envy and work in the garden. It was believed that the violation of these rules could have had serious consequences for the family.

Despite the present, many still pay attention to such beliefs - and even in the 21st century, Fevronia's day remains a symbol of certain care and restraint.
