Russia continues to keep forces near the Ukrainian border, but there are currently no signs of a mass transfer of troops to the Belgorod region. This was confirmed by the spokesman of the State Border Service of Ukraine Andriy Demchenko during his speech on the air of the telethon. Despite the lack of active movement of enemy troops, the situation on the border remains tense, which requires constant readiness of Ukrainian border guards for any development of events.
The current situation at the border: what is known
Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the issue of security at the state border has become one of the key issues. However, a decrease in activity on the part of Russian troops in the northern directions has been recorded recently. As Andrii Demchenko noted, Russia does continue to maintain a certain amount of forces in the Belgorod region, but there is no mass replenishment or increase of military units there.
Despite the absence of signs of active movement of enemy forces, Ukrainian border guards remain on guard. The main task of the State Border Service at the moment is to maintain and strengthen its own defense positions on the territory of Ukraine. This allows you to maintain constant readiness for possible aggressive actions by the enemy.
"Having those forces and means, the enemy can take any action against our country at any moment," Demchenko emphasized. This readiness is critical because even in the absence of a direct attack, the enemy may launch surprise attacks or sabotage.
The situation on the northern front
The aggravation on the northern borders of Ukraine, including the Belgorod and Kursk regions, where fierce fighting continues, increases the risks for the security of the border regions. The Ukrainian military reports that Russian troops in the Belgorod region appear more prepared for a possible offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine compared to the situation in the Kursk region. This adds weight to the task of Ukrainian border guards to remain vigilant and promptly respond to any changes in the situation.
