"The Ministry of Defense missed something": the Council committee has questions about the draft law on mobilization

The specialized committee of the Verkhovna Rada still has certain questions regarding the new draft law on mobilization. However, you can already work with the above-mentioned document.

People's deputy , deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine's committee on national security, defense and intelligence Yehor Chernev said this

What "questions" are there now regarding the new draft law.
In the new draft law on mobilization, the Cabinet of Ministers only partially took into account the proposals of the specialized committee of the Verkhovna Rada, so it will need to be finalized.

We expressed our suggestions about what needs to be changed in this draft law.
Something was heard, something was not heard, probably in the Ministry of Defense. But this can already be worked on and refined before the second reading, Chernev said.

He also emphasized that under the new draft law, disabled persons of the third group will not be mobilized.

In particular, according to the deputy chairman of the committee, summonses should not be sent by e-mail, but, according to the draft law, summonses can be sent to the electronic cabinet.

The official also commented on the idea of blocking access to citizens' bank accounts.

Questions remain, but there is work to be done. Also, the question of responsibility for people who did not come according to the summons remains open. We insisted that it does not violate human rights , he emphasized.

Chernev added that the committee will invite representatives of the Ministry of Defense to explain their position.

What is known about the new draft law on mobilization: briefly

▪️On January 30, the Cabinet of Ministers registered in the Verkhovna Rada an updated draft of the Law on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Certain Issues of Military Service, Mobilization, and Military Registration under registration number 10449.

▪️The Ministry of Defense noted that the document took into account comments and observations jointly with the General Staff, the government and people's deputies.

▪️It provides that a clear period of service is defined for the period of martial law, and people with disabilities of all groups are exempted from military service. In particular, military personnel can rest by taking a vacation of at least 15 calendar days.

▪️Conscript service is also canceled - it will be replaced by basic military training. Immediately after mobilization , no one will be thrown to the front, military training will be mandatory for two to three months. Financial security - at least 20 thousand hryvnias per month.

▪️It will be possible to update the data online, i.e. without visiting the TCC. You cannot move to another city without the permission of the TCC - you will have to register at a new address. At the same time, civil servants will not have armor.
