From February 18, 2025, quarantine has been introduced in the schools of Lviv region due to a sharp increase in influenza and SARS. The educational institutions will switch to a remote format that will last until February 28. This was reported by the Director of the Regional Department of Education and Science Oleg Pasko during a briefing.
According to Easter, experts will monitor the epidemic situation in the region during this period, after which they will decide on further steps.
It is noted that in some schools quarantine was introduced earlier. Yes, the students of the Batyatyn Gymnasium began to study online from February 17.
Quarantine restrictions were also introduced in other regions of Ukraine, in particular in the Rivne region, Transcarpathia, Khmelnytskyi, Odesa region, Chernivtsi and Vinnytsia regions.
Increasing the incidence of influenza and SARS in Lviv region
Over the last week, the number of flu and SARS in the Lviv region has increased by 22%, and more than 15 thousand cases have already been registered. More than half of patients are school-age children (5-14 years). There are 177 patients in the hospitals of the region, and only on February 16, 85 patients were hospitalized at an infectious hospital. Laboratory studies have confirmed that half of the samples contain influenza A and B. viruses
