Maksym Shkil, the owner of the Autostrada company, announced on his Facebook page about the suspension of the construction of the third level of substation protection, which was planned to be completed by June 2024. The reason for stopping the project was that the government financed only 10% of the total cost of the works. Schiel also recalled his previous post in April regarding the critical situation with payments for infrastructure projects, including the third level of protection of energy facilities, where Autostrada is a key contractor.
In his address, Shkil noted that the government's reaction was negative, with the suspension of all payments and a review of prices and construction quality. He emphasized that the prices offered by Autostrada are the lowest among all contractors, and the degree of project readiness is one of the highest. The businessman was outraged by the inaction of the government, which led to the energy collapse in Ukraine, stressing the need to hold the head of the government, Denys Shmyhal, responsible for the disruption of the construction of protection of energy facilities.
According to Shkilev, the project of the third level of protection of substations was supposed to be completed by June 2024 in accordance with the signed contracts, but due to insufficient funding, significant debts arose, which caused a complete stop of work.
"This is a problem that affects all contracting organizations that work on the construction of the third level of protection of energy facilities! Today, the debt to Autostrada amounts to almost 9 billion hryvnias. The photo I published illustrates the problem - it's not just PR and posts, but the real work of companies and unpaid state debts over the years," he concluded.
