A tragic event occurred in the village of Dobrovody, Ternopil region, which shook local residents. Yesterday, at 3:30 p.m., while on duty, a serviceman with the rank of private Serhiy Korobets stepped outside the checkpoint and opened fire from an AK-47 assault rifle at parked cars and passersby.
“The incident occurred at 3:30 p.m. A serviceman with the rank of Private Korobets Serhiy Mykhailovych, who was on duty, went beyond the checkpoint to the center of the village of Dobrovody and, for unknown reasons, opened fire from an AK-47 assault rifle at parked cars and passersby. Three people were injured during the shooting and were hospitalized, but one woman died in intensive care from her injuries,” the source said.
In the Ternopil region, where a soldier left his place of duty, came to the center of the village and opened fire on people there, killing two women.
According to local media, the tragedy occurred on Dobrovody Village Day. In honor of the holiday, rides for children were set up near the local club. That's where the shooting occurred.
“We heard shots. One man, who was later wounded, said that someone was probably joking and went to look. Then someone threw his relative to the ground, saying, ‘Run, someone is shooting.’ Panic broke out, people grabbed their children and ran away. She ran towards the cemetery. On the way, she met a woman who later died. She was returning home with her daughter. The soldier was also walking towards the cemetery and shooting at everyone. Someone said that he had two magazines of ammunition,” says a village resident.
The shooter was stopped by two men as he walked 2 km from the shooting scene. Then law enforcement arrived.
“A woman, a mother of two children, a widow, was killed. She was returning home with her children – Malshevska Maria, she was the first victim. She was shot in front of the children. The second woman was Zremyak Olga,” the woman says.
Another man was shot in both arms, and a woman was shot in the stomach.
The soldier was detained.
