The WhatsApp messenger has presented a new Message Summaries function that uses artificial intelligence to summarize chat content. The option allows you to quickly find out what happened in the conversation without reading each message separately.
Meta explained that such a function will be useful after a flight, meeting or simply with a lot of correspondence - when you do not want to read everything.
Message Summaries runs on the basis of Meta AI technology, and data processing occurs through the Private Processing system - that is, all data remain on the user's device. The company emphasizes that the privacy of the correspondence is not broken, and no other participant of the chat will know that you have used the results.
The function is not activated automatically - it must be switched on manually through the "Settings" → "chats" → "Private processing". There you can also choose which chats to allow access to the SI -based - through the Advanced Chat Privacy parameter.
So far, Message Summaries are only available in the US and English, but later this year META plans to expand its functionality to other countries and languages.
In addition to the results of the messages, a new SI tool can also help with writing answers using the context of chat-but only after activating the appropriate option.
