January 2025 begins with warmth: forecasters predict up to +14°C

The first days of 2025 give Ukrainians real spring warmth. According to the well-known forecaster Natalia Didenko, January 1 and 2 will be surprisingly warm, as for the winter period.

Weather on January 1
The air temperature in Ukraine will be +5...+9°C, in the south of the country up to +12°C. Precipitation is not expected on the first day of the New Year, but the west wind can be quite strong with gusts of up to 15-20 m/s.

It will also be warm in the capital: +1...+3°C at night, +5...+7°C during the day. The sky will remain cloudless, but a gusty wind will create a feeling of coolness.

Forecast for January 2
On the second day of the new year, forecasters predict more heat: the temperature will reach +9...+14°C. This weather will create a spring mood, but the westerly wind will remain strong, adding dynamism to the climate surprise.

Natalia Didenko reminds that the calendar winter is still going on. As early as January 3-4, cold weather with frosts is forecast in Ukraine.

On December 31, 2024, Ukrainians were also pleased with positive temperatures. In some regions +0...+5°C was observed, in the south up to +11°C. However, the snow cover remained in the Carpathians, night frosts reached -2...-7°C.

Forecasters of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center note that the winter atmosphere this year can be felt only in the mountains, while the rest of the country celebrated the New Year under spring weather conditions.
