The brutal murder of a 46-year-old citizen of Ukraine and her six-year-old daughter was shocked by the Belgian village of Haasrode. On June 6, the bodies of two Ukrainian women with knife wounds were found in the raising house. The fire, as it turned out later, was deliberately arranged-and the 16-year-old son of the dead became the main suspect in the case.
According to the Belgian broadcast of Virt, the young man confessed that he had inflated his mother and sister knife wounds, and then set fire to the house. Earlier it was reported that at the time of the fire the guy was allegedly in school, but further investigative actions changed the course of the case.
Currently, the prosecutor's office is investigating the incident. On June 8, the suspect must be awarded the court in juvenile cases. The motive of the crime has not yet been revealed, it is trying to find out during the investigation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine confirmed that the case is under special control. According to Deputy Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga, the Ukrainian Embassy in Belgium interacts with the local police, the prosecutor's office and relatives of the dead.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that consular staff are already working with all relevant bodies and family. Meanwhile, the Belgian Prosecutor's Office continues the investigation in the framework of open criminal proceedings.
This tragedy stirred not only the local community in Belgium, but also Ukrainian society. There are more questions than answers: how could it come to such, why the son killed his family - and what remained behind this terrible crime?
