Ukrainian singer, composer and People's Artist of Ukraine Iryna Bilyk shared an unexpected photo from the capital of Great Britain. The artist met with the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, who currently holds the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Great Britain. The meeting took place in London and aroused keen interest among fans.
On her Instagram, Bilyk published a series of photos, one of which shows Zaluzhny smiling and taking a selfie with the artist. Then the singer showed a gift - the general's own book, signed for her personally. In the message, Zaluzhny called himself a "crazy fan" of Irina, which really touched the singer.
" An incredible meeting with Valery Zaluzhny! I am amazed by the humanity and sincerity of a true Ukrainian! " the artist wrote under the photos.
In the comments, Ukrainians reacted emotionally to the general's appearance. Many of Bilyk and Zaluzhny's supporters wrote that they missed him in their homeland and asked to "send greetings" from home. Among the most common reactions were requests to return to Ukraine and words of support:
" Bring him back ,"
" We really need him ,"
" Irusya, tell Zaluzhny that they are waiting for him in Ukraine ,"
" Indomitable general ."
As a reminder, Valeriy Zaluzhny was appointed Ukraine's ambassador to the United Kingdom in May last year. The day before, by presidential decree, he was released from military service due to health reasons, retaining the right to wear uniform.
