Nastya Kamensky has commented for the first time on the wave of criticism that arose due to her performances in Russian at concerts in the United States.
At the show in Miami, the singer addressed the audience from the stage:
“It doesn’t matter what color your skin is. It doesn’t matter what language we speak. There is one language that the whole world understands. Do you know what it is? It’s love. The most important feeling in the world is love.”
With these words, the artist tried to relieve tension after discussions on social networks. Part of the audience condemned Kamensky for performing songs in Russian at a time when Ukrainian society is particularly sensitive to the language issue.
In August, Nastya gave concerts in Chicago, Miami, and New York. Her program included hits in Russian – “This is my night,” “Red wine,” and “Popa kak u Kim.” This caused a mixed reaction among Ukrainian listeners, who expected the singer to completely switch to a Ukrainian-language repertoire.
Despite the criticism, Kamensky emphasizes that for her, music is a universal language of feelings, and the main message of her performances is unity and love, regardless of the country or language of performance.
