Oleg Vynnyk, who disappeared from public view at the start of the full-scale war, has decided to return to his musical career — and to do so far outside of Ukraine. The singer has announced a concert tour of Germany for December 2025. But so far, the comeback promises to be difficult: ticket sales are almost stagnant, despite the loud announcement and promo video.
The singer has seven cities in his plans: Saarbrücken, Fürth, Pforzheim, Offenbach am Main, Mülheim an der Ruhr, Berlin and Hamburg. However, as can be seen from the sales websites, even for the first concert on December 2nd — in Saarbrücken — the hall remains half empty. The situation is the same in other cities.
One of the reasons is the high cost of tickets. The cheapest seat costs €59 (over 2,800 UAH), and the best tickets cost up to €119 (almost 5,700 UAH). And this is in conditions when the lion's share of the Ukrainian audience in Germany is internally displaced persons, for whom such expenses are not a priority.
But the price is not the only problem. From the promo video, it became clear that the tour program will consist mainly of Russian-language hits, including songs that were popular among Vovchitsa fans until 2022. And here another uncomfortable question arises: is the Ukrainian diaspora ready to listen to such songs during the war?
Against the backdrop of Russia's military aggression and public demand for Ukrainian-language content, Vynnyk's bet on Russian-language nostalgia could turn into a reputational fiasco. Given the low demand for tickets, the tour already looks like a dubious move.
We remind you that earlier there were scandals surrounding the artist due to the lack of a public position on the war and the silence about his activities abroad. And now, it seems that Vynnyk is facing a cold reception not only in Ukraine, but also in Europe.
