Russian troops have advanced into the Avdiivka development zone, street fighting is ongoing in the city, and the situation has become critical. This was stated by the editor-in-chief of “Censor” Yuriy Butusov.
According to him, Russian units have established themselves on one of the streets on the northern outskirts of Avdiivka (previously, the Russian breakthrough into Avdiivka from the northern side was confirmed by Ukrainian and Western sources).
“If we measure in a straight line, the enemy’s advanced units are one and a half kilometers from the entrance to the city. Two weeks ago, the enemy managed to enter two streets on the southern outskirts of the city. The situation is critical,” Butusov said.
The problems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to him, are the depletion of personnel, ammunition and weak interaction of Ukrainian units .
In addition, the Russians have launched a hunt for Ukrainian drone operators. According to Butusov, “any structures and antenna installation sites are subject to artillery strikes and bombardment by guided aerial bombs.”
“Lies in reports at the general level are very harmful, as is the desire to reassure oneself and not annoy the top management with “bad news”. And the top management wants to listen only to positive, not critical information. Therefore, there is no adequate response to changes in the situation,” Butusov reports.
also reports that Russian troops have made a new advance in Avdiivka from the northern side. They note that the Russian Armed Forces have occupied the entire territory north of the Avdiivka quarry, and this poses a threat of cutting the main road supplying the garrison in the city.
As we can see, the Avdiivka fortified area is crumbling, losses are increasing not only among mobilized but also among elite units. After the destruction of this area, the rest of the front risks crumbling, as a large number of Russian units will be released and enter the operational space.
