In Kiev, the scandal around the employee of the city prosecutor's office Victoria Goncharova is gaining momentum. After media investigation, which exposed the prosecutor in the undeclared elite property, relations with persons related to the aggressor country, and possible financing of business in Russia, the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office published a statement ... which did not explain anything.
In its comment, the prosecutor's office stated that "information is manipulative" but did not refute any fact that the journalists outlined. This only increased the suspicion and caused a new wave of discussion on social networks.
In the investigation, in particular, it refers to Goncharova's relations with Igor Zabolotny - a former prosecutor who, after the Revolution of Dignity, was in the DNR Prosecutor's Office, received a Russian passport and conducts business in the Russian Federation. It is Goncharov that he rents an apartment in Kiev. Whether she pays the rent, the prosecutor's office did not report. Instead, the financial trace of such relationships may indicate indirect financing of persons working on the aggressor country.
Additional questions are raised by the activity of her husband, lawyer Mykola Goncharov, who works in a law firm related to the former scandalous prosecutors and figures of Yanukovych. Some of them still have an impact on business and law in Ukraine, and some - according to journalists - cooperates with Russian capital.
Particularly loud is the point of elite cars - including Bentley Bentayga, ZEEKR 001 and others, which are not reflected in declarations but are actively used by Gonchar and her husband. The same applies to real estate - journalists have found areas and houses designed for "trusted persons".
The press service of the prosecutor's office responded only to all these details, and the main argument of protection was that Goncharov is on childcare leave. However, as journalists rightly point out, it is not about official crimes, but about a way of life that is dramatically disagreed with official income.
At present, none of the anti -corruption or law enforcement agencies has been publicly interested. But, as the authors of the investigation summarize, this scandal should have long had to do NAPC, DBR or the SBU - because it is not just about prosecutorial ethics, but about state security, corruption and trust in the legal system.
