Scandalously known official of the State Border Service of Ukraine, Major General Serhiy Mul, has removed his declarations from public access in the NACP register. This was reported by the publication 368.media.
In 2024, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court acquitted Mul of making false declarations. Now, after the charges were dropped, his declarations have disappeared from public access.
General Mule became famous throughout the country in 2023 after a video of his conflict with patrol officers appeared on the Internet. The incident occurred in the fall of 2022, when law enforcement officers stopped Mule's car during curfew. The officer refused to take a breathalyzer test, and when the patrol officer asked him to, he responded with a phrase that became a meme: "Principled? Take the risk!"
After the public outcry, Mul was dismissed from his position as head of the Southern Regional Department of the State Administrative Service of the State Administrative Service of the Republic of Ukraine, but was soon transferred to Kyiv to the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Organization of Work, Planning and Control of the State Administrative Service of the Republic of Ukraine.
Mule's name also appeared in another story from 2023. His subordinate, the department's press officer, went to Paris to celebrate New Year's during a full-scale invasion. The event caused a wide public outcry, and she was later fired.
The disappearance of Serhiy Mul's declarations from the NACP register has sparked a new wave of criticism. Anti-corruption experts say such actions reduce transparency in the civil service system and create risks for trust in law enforcement officials.
It is currently unknown why the documents were removed, but the fact of their disappearance was confirmed directly in the NACP database.
