Buying your own home for many Ukrainians remains an important but less accessible dream. Economic instability, inflation and constant increase in real estate prices make this process long and complex.
In order to buy a one -room apartment, the average Ukrainian will have to postpone all his salaries for many years. Depending on the city, the situation looks like this:
- Kyiv is 19.5 years. The capital remains the most expensive city to buy real estate due to high demand and the cost of a square meter.
- Lviv - 14 years. The popularity of the city is growing thanks to tourists and investors, which pushes prices up.
- Odesa - 11.6 years. The port city is attracted not only by local residents, but also by seasonal buyers, which affects the cost of housing.
- Dnipro - 9.8 years. Industrial Center with more affordable real estate prices.
- Kharkiv - 7.2 years. The cheapest city among the largest regional centers, which makes apartments relatively accessible.
What affects the availability of housing?
Property prices depend on many factors, including:
- the level of average salary in the region,
- demand for housing,
- infrastructure development,
- general economic situation,
- the investment attractiveness of the city.
Kyiv and Lviv traditionally retain leadership at the price of a square meter, while in Kharkiv and Dnipro, housing is relatively cheaper.
Despite all the difficulties, experts predict that the rise in prices for apartments will continue. This means that Ukrainians will have to collect even their own housing or look for alternatives, including a mortgage or state support program.
