After a massive rocket attack on the night of June 17, which claimed the lives of at least 22 residents of Kiev, the capital announced on June 18 the day of mourning. The city prohibits any entertainment, and in the information space-lull: Ukrainian artists massively cancel publications of advertising and entertainment, expressing compassion and solidarity with the victims.
In social networks, dozens of public figures - actors, TV presenters, musicians - shared words of pain and support. Among them are Lilia Rebrik, Olga Sumskaya, Ector Jimenez-Bravo, Christina Gornyak, Dasha Flower, Vadim Oliynyk and others.
"Words are no longer enough ... Today, all thoughts and prayers - to those who are no longer nearby. To those who have suffered. Who survived, but with wounds in the heart. Who did not wait in the morning," - wrote singer Lida Lee.
"Three years of war, but pain does not weaken. Sumy, fear, anger ... But at the same time, grateful to those who make every next morning possible."
Particularly painful was the cynicism of Russian users in the comments to the post of singer Nadi Dorofeeva, who expressed horror and sorrow because of the death of people. Under her photo, mockery and approving reactions from the pro -Russian audience appeared, which only emphasized the scale of information terror that accompanies rocket attacks.
The legendary Sofia Rotaru was broken. After a long pause, she posted a black image on social networks and the inscription "Prayer for Kiev" . She did not add any comments, but even this short post has become a landmark for many Ukrainians.
As of the morning of June 18, rescue work continues in Kiev. The death toll can increase. People remain under the rubble, and doctors continue to fight for the lives of the seriously wounded.
Ukraine honors the memory of the dead. And with it - and those whose voices sound from stage, screen or radio. On this day, they are silent to make the truth about the war louder.
