A tragic traffic accident took place on the highway "Lviv - Sambir - Uzhhorod" near the village of Babina, which took the life of a pedestrian. The incident took place on November 22 around 5:30 p.m.
According to the police of the Lviv region, the man was first hit by a truck. The impact threw him into the oncoming lane, where he was hit by two cars — a Fiat Fiorino and a BMW 530D, driven by residents of Sambirshchyna aged 53 and 37. The injuries received by the man turned out to be incompatible with life - he died at the scene.
Investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police have started criminal proceedings under 2 Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This article provides for punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years, with or without a possible deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
