Snow, rain and ice: what to expect from the weather in Ukraine on December 12

Ukrainian winter is finally showing its character. On December 12, cloudy and cool weather awaits the country with snowfalls and rains in the south and east, reports the Ukrhydrometeorological center.

Forecasters predict light precipitation mainly in the form of snow. Moderate rain with sleet is possible in the southern and eastern regions. At night, ice and wet snow may form in the central and Kharkiv regions, so drivers should be careful on the roads.

In the northern, western, Vinnytsia and Cherkasy regions, no precipitation is expected during the day. However, there will be ice on the roads almost all over the country, with the exception of the southern and southeastern regions.

  • Night and day: -4...+1 °C.
  • South and southeast: 0...+5 °C.
  • Carpathian highlands: -3...-8 °C at night, -1...-6 °C during the day.

A cold northwesterly wind at a speed of 7-12 m/s will add an even greater sensation to the frost.

Kyiv

In the capital, the day will start with snow, which will gradually weaken and stop by the middle of the day.

  • Daytime temperature: -2...-1 °C.
  • Wind: 7-12 m/s, adds to the feeling of cold.
  • Atmospheric pressure: remains below normal (747-750 mm Hg).

According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, severe frosts and snowfall are expected in Ukraine in the coming days.
