Today will bring difficult weather conditions to almost all corners of Ukraine. Forecasters predict precipitation in the form of sleet and rain, strong wind gusts of up to 20 m/s and ice on the roads are possible in places. The air temperature will vary from a freezing -6° at night to a warm +13° during the day, depending on the region.
Snow and rain activity began at night in the east of the country, as well as in the Carpathians and Transcarpathia. Bad weather will spread to most areas in the morning and afternoon. Transcarpathia will receive the largest amount of precipitation, and significant snow with blizzards is expected in the mountainous regions of the Carpathians.
Temperatures will vary significantly depending on geography. In the west, north, Vinnytsia and Cherkaschyna, -1...-6° is expected at night, from -1° to +4° during the day. In the central, eastern and southern regions, the night temperature will be slightly higher, from -3° to +2°, and during the day it will warm up to +7°. In the south of Ukraine, thermometers will reach +13°, providing more comfortable, albeit rainy, weather. A real winter will prevail in the Carpathians: -6...-11° at night, and up to -5° during the day.
A strong southerly wind will reach a speed of up to 20 m/s, especially during the day. This will be an additional test for residents of most regions.
The weather will also be unsettled in Kyiv and the region. The night promises frost to -3...-6°, during the day it will warm up to +1...+4°. Wet snow is expected in the capital, which will turn into rain, and you should be careful on the roads due to ice.
Forecasters warn of possible complications due to bad weather: slippery roads, gusty winds and reduced visibility due to precipitation. Drivers should be careful on highways, and pedestrians should be careful on sidewalks.
