Ukraine is coming to a powerful cooling, which can cause serious problems with transport, road accidents and interruptions in the work of utilities. Forecasters warn of the return of winter conditions in the coming days - with night frosts, snowfall and ice.
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, the Arctic air will affect the weather in Ukraine since April 6. In most regions, a sharp decrease in temperature, gust wind up to 15-20 m/s, snow and ice. In particular, on the night of Saturday, April 6, in the Zhytomyr region, in the Vinnytsia region and the western regions, forecasters forecast frost up to -5 ° C.
On the night of April 7, the cold will reach almost the entire territory of the country, except for certain areas of the East and the Southeast. In the daytime, rainfall will continue, and in the western regions and in Vinnytsia region ice will form on the roads.
The sharp deterioration of the weather is associated with the movement of cold arctic air and active cyclone, which will bring precipitation and wind. According to the SES, the expected snowfall can reach 15 cm somewhere, which will complicate the work of transport, communal and energy services.
Rescuers urge drivers to be careful as possible, avoid long -term trips without urgent need and adhere to warnings about ice.
Despite the temporary return of winter, the overall trend in April remains positive. According to the weather forecaster Igor Kibalchich, after a short cooling period, the temperature will gradually increase, and the number of sunny days will increase.
According to climatic forecasts, April in Ukraine will generally be warmer than the average years. The temperature will exceed the rate by +1.5… +2.7 ° C, especially in the northern and eastern regions of Europe.
