Who is Yuri Peremozhets?
George of Cappadocia lived in the 3rd–4th centuries. He was a soldier at the court of Emperor Diocletian, but he openly spoke out against the persecution of Christians. He was tortured, but he was miraculously healed, which inspired many to believe, including Tsarina Alexandra. In the end, both were executed.
Today, Yuri is revered as the patron saint of warriors, courage, and a protector from evil and disease.
