President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi arrived in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, June 12, with the aim of participating in important international negotiations on strengthening peace and stability in the world.
At a meeting with Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman al Saud, Zelenskyy discussed a number of issues related not only to bilateral relations between Ukraine and Saudi Arabia, but also to global challenges facing the modern world.
"We discussed the bilateral relations of Ukraine and Saudi Arabia, noted the good dynamics of the implementation of our previous agreements, the effective cooperation of the teams. We will continue this," Zelensky wrote.
According to him, preparations for the first global peace summit, which will be held in Switzerland, were also discussed.
"We exchanged views on the international situation and prospects for its development. Ukraine is grateful to Saudi Arabia for its support. We appreciate the desire of His Highness to help in the faster restoration of peace," the president said.
Peace Summit
The event will take place on June 15-16 in Switzerland and will be dedicated to the discussion of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi's peace formula.
Russia is trying to prevent the summit by dissuading countries loyal to it from participating in it. Russia was not invited to the summit, but it is expected that it will have the opportunity to participate in the conference on the results of the summit.
About 90 countries have confirmed their participation in the summit, and some of the delegations will not be represented at the highest level.
