Special pensions for security forces: pension costs may increase to UAH 120 billion by the end of 2024

According to the Ministry of Social Policy, the cost of paying special pensions to security forces in Ukraine since the beginning of 2024 amounted to approximately 88 billion hryvnias. By the end of the year, this amount may increase to 120 billion hryvnias. Forbes Ukraine reports this.

This is more than the budget allocated for education – UAH 103 billion, notes People's Deputy Zheleznyak.

Thanks to the courts and disability status, a security officer's final payment can reach 100,000 UAH per month - dozens of times more than other citizens.

The parliament and government are preparing to change the rules for receiving special pensions and disability status, as well as to eliminate the MSEK.
