Singer Ani Lorak has issued Russian citizenship

The scandalous Ukrainian singer Ani Lorak, who lives and works in Russia for many years, allegedly officially became a Russian citizen. This was reported by Russian propaganda media with reference to its environment.

According to them, in February 2023, the performer filed documents for citizenship. And on June 9, 2024, according to sources, Lorak had already received a Russian passport. There is no public confirmation from the singer herself - she does not comment on news about changing citizenship.

However, this step looks quite expected. In 2023, Ani Lorak was 45 years old, so in the case of an old sample passport, she should paste a new photo or draw up an ID card. Due to the lack of the Ukrainian Embassy in Russia after the start of a full -scale war, it was impossible to do so in the Russian Federation. She also did not apply abroad to resolve the issue of documents.

Ani Lorak has long been associated with Russian show business. It stayed in Russia after 2014, despite the war in the Donbass and annexation of Crimea. With the beginning of a full -scale invasion in 2022, her position has not changed: she has not publicly condemned aggression, but continues to perform on Russian scenes and communicate with the Kremlin close to the Kremlin.

In October 2022, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine imposed sanctions against Ani Lorak. The reason was its open ignoring of Russian aggression, the support of the occupier country and the continuation of activities in the territory of the state, which is leading a war against Ukraine.
