Ukrainian singer Natalka Karpa spoke about the behavior of her colleagues - rapper Potap and his wife, artist Nastia Kamenskyi, who went abroad after the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia.
Potap, known to Ukrainian listeners for his hits, after his departure rarely comments on events in Ukraine and mostly demonstrates his life abroad in social networks. Nastya Kamenskikh, although she lives mostly abroad, occasionally visits Ukraine and participates in events in support of her homeland.
Natalka Karpa admitted that it is difficult for her to condemn the decision of Potap and Kamensky, because it is their personal choice. However, the singer suggested that the reason for Potap's departure could be illness. She also noted that she would like to see more civic activity from the rapper, given his popularity and influence on the Ukrainian audience.
"I would definitely like more of a civic position from him. Because his audience was millions of Ukrainians who sang along to his songs somewhere for more than one year, and in such difficult times, I would definitely like him to support Ukrainians, support the Ukrainian nation, culture," Karpa emphasized.
Regarding Nastya Kamenskyi, Natalka noted that her colleague is now actively working on the Latin American market, and although Karpa admires Nastya's achievements on the international stage, she regretted the lack of a clear position of the artist on the war in Ukraine.
"She writes a lot of songs, focuses on Latin America, I understand that there is a big market there. […] It seems to me that they are now driving as they can, as it is convenient for them. The only thing is, it's a pity that there is no such clear position and support for Ukraine, and cool Ukrainian songs, which should have been there," said Karpa.
