Ukrainian singer Anastasia Prikhodko made an unexpected statement about her old Russian-language repertoire against the background of acute discussions around the performance of songs in the language of the aggressor country. Her reaction appeared after a linguistic scandal with the participation of Andriy Danylko, who performed his tracks in Russian at a concert in Kiev.
In her Instagram Stories, Prikhodko posted a screenshot of news that Serdyuchka would not "punish" for concerts with Russian -speaking songs. She wrote: "Well, dear friends, I return the whole Russian -speaking repertoire," mention one of her songs "Unit", which she performed with Valery Meladze.
The singer added that she plans to perform all her old Russian -language compositions again. At the same time, she stressed that this statement was not a criticism against Danylko, calling him a "legend" and confessing that she had grown up on his albums, in particular in "after Tabya."
Prikhodko emphasized that her actions were supported by the State Language Commissioner, noting: “I was allowed to sing to me! Closed the topic! PS, more, Victor Tsoi is not forbidden - chess and mat! ”
We will remind that after the speech of Andriy Danylko with Russian -speaking songs in Kiev, the Ombudsman on language issues Taras Kremin commented the situation, saying that there was no violation. He explained that the artist's songs are author, he is a citizen of Ukraine, and the works are in the official repertoire, so their performance is not prohibited.
