Singer Prykhodko supported the Russian language in Ukraine

Ukrainian singer Anastasia Prykhodko became the subject of discussion after an emotional interview in which she publicly supported the Russian language. She stated that she is not guilty of the fact that during her schooling, all subjects were taught in Russian, and that she is obliged to know Ukrainian if she defends the interests of her country, but does not consider it right to impose it on others.

In an interview on the YouTube channel "Vlast vs Vlashchenko", the artist noted that the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine is constantly harassed, comparing the situation with refugees who left for Germany after the Second World War. She noted that until 2014, no one paid attention to the language of communication of citizens, and everyone lived peacefully and harmoniously.

Pryhodko is convinced that every citizen of Ukraine is obliged to know the Ukrainian language, but is not obliged to communicate in it. She also expressed support for citizens who do not speak the Ukrainian language and called for unity and mutual aid, especially during wartime.

Her position, which she voiced in Russian, caused outrage among many Ukrainians, as some believe that in times of war, support for the Russian language may have political implications.
