Ukrainian singer Sofia Rotaru, who lived and worked in Russia for a long time, expressed her support for Ukraine with the beginning of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in 2022. However, despite this gesture, the artist remains tight-lipped and does not go on stage.
The director of the artist, Serhiy Lavrov, told the Russian mass media that Rotaru currently has no plans to return to concert activities. This information appeared against the background of rumors from Russian propagandists about the singer's possible participation in the "Song of the Year" festival. Lavrov clearly denied these assumptions, noting: "No, Sofya Mykhailivna will not speak. But she is fine."
He also talked about his recent call to the singer, during which he wished her sister, Aurika Rotaru, a happy birthday. The director emphasized that the issue of the artist's return to the stage depends only on her own decision.
"It's the same if you asked me how Edita Stanislavivna Piekha is doing and whether we should expect her return to the stage. God bless them both. Let's hope that Sofia Mykhailivna will make some decision. And there already, how her health will be. The artist is not young," Lavrov added.
We will remind you that Rotary's support for Ukraine during the war, even without active performances, testifies to its position in this difficult time. While the singer remains off the stage, fans are waiting for any news regarding her possible return.
