Employees of "Ukrzaliznytsia" were detained in the Poltava region for stealing fuel

The police of the Poltava region reported the arrest of Ukrzaliznytsia employees, who are suspected of embezzling half a million hryvnias worth of fuel.

According to law enforcement officers, the criminal activity was carried out at one of the railway stations near the city of Kremenchuk.

According to the police, the suspects have been stealing fuel from locomotives for some time. They used the opportunity during maintenance work or interruptions in train traffic to illegally take possession of a valuable resource.

They stole up to a ton of fuel from locomotives at a time at the railway station near Kremenchuk. 21 such episodes were documented, and they were caught simply during another downpour.

Among the participants are a train assembler, drivers and driver's assistants.
