The attack on the Novolypetsk metallurgical plant, which took place on the night of February 24, was carried out with the participation of employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and Ukrainian military intelligence for the purpose of a special operation.
The Novolypetsk Metallurgical Plant is one of the largest metallurgical facilities in Russia, which plays an important role in the military-industrial complex of the Russian Federation and fulfills a significant number of government orders.
The raw materials produced at this enterprise are used for the production of missiles, artillery and drones.
After the drone strikes, a large-scale fire broke out at the plant, and all personnel were evacuated. The attack was aimed at installations for primary cooling of raw coke gas. Damage to these installations will lead to the cessation of production for a long period.
The Novolypetsk metallurgical plant belongs to the oligarch Volodymyr Lisin, who is close to the dictator Vladimir Putin and is one of the three richest people in the Russian Federation.
Until recently, the plant produced raw materials for companies involved in the development of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles.
