The case of taking over the Odesa airport: businessman Borukhovich was again extended his duties

The higher anti-corruption court extended until April 19 the deadline for fulfilling the duties assigned to businessman Alex Borukhovych, who became a suspect in the case of organizing the takeover of the international airport "Odesa".

According to the court decision, a preventive measure was imposed on Borukhovich in the form of bail in the amount of 120.78 million hryvnias. He is also obliged to appear at the first request, not to leave Odesa and the region without the permission of the monitoring body, the prosecutor and the court. In addition, he must report any changes in his place of residence and work, refrain from communicating with other suspects and witnesses in the case.

Borukhovych must also hand over his passport or passports for safekeeping to the appropriate authority and wear an electronic bracelet. However, the electronic bracelet was later removed.

The SAP prosecutor asked about the extension of other restrictions.

The court's decision partially satisfied, extending the period of validity of the suspect's duties due to the application of a preventive measure in the form of bail. The validity period of the decision is two months until April 19, 2024 inclusive, but within the limits of the pre-trial investigation.

In October, the High Anti-Corruption Court seized the property of the International Airport "Odesa" in the case against Boris Kaufman.

According to the investigation, in 2011 two well-known Odessa businessmen Boris Kaufman and Oleksandr Granovskyi (Aleks Borukhovich) organized a scheme to take over the property of KP "Odesa International Airport". They registered an LLC, which was supposed to create a joint venture with the Odesa City Council, with the aim of acquiring and privatizing the property complex of the airport worth about 118 million hryvnias.

Obtaining the consent of OMR deputies to create a company was supported by the then mayor Oleksiy Kostusev, who presented investment plans in the development of the airport. In addition, according to the investigation, the official committed official forgery, which gave the controlled LLC the right to form a company with OMR through a circumventing competitive procedure.

We will remind that on September 7, the Higher Anti-Corruption Court chose a preventive measure for Odessa businessman Boris Kaufman, and later also for another businessman in the case of illegal acquisition of the property complex of KP "International Airport "Odesa" and 2.5 billion hryvnias of income from his activities - Oleksiy Granovskyi .
