Ukraine is expected to experience sharply contrasting weather on Palm Sunday. Forecasters warn that real winter will prevail at night, while spring-like warmth, and in some places even summer-like, will prevail during the day.
According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, on Sunday night the air temperature in most regions will drop to -5°C, and in some areas - up to -8°C. At the same time, during the day the air will rapidly warm up to +10…+15°C, and in the west of the country warming up to +18°C is possible.
Mostly throughout Ukraine, variable cloudiness and almost complete absence of precipitation will persist. Only at night in some areas of the southeast, slight wet snow is possible. In the morning, fog will be present in many regions.
"At night, frosts in the air 0…-5°C, in places up to -8°C. During the day — +10…+15°C, in the west up to +18°C," the forecasters say.
Meteorologists are paying special attention to dangerous weather conditions - in most regions, a level II danger level has been declared due to frost in the air.
Forecast for Kyiv region
No precipitation is forecast in the Kyiv region on Sunday. Fog is possible in places at night and in the morning. The temperature in the region will fluctuate within 0…-5°C, in the capital — about -2°C. During the day, it will be relatively warm: from +10 to +15°C in the region and +13…+15°C in Kyiv. The wind is weak, variable in direction, speed — 3–8 m/s.
Such temperature swings are typical for mid-spring, when the night still retains its winter coolness, and the day increasingly pleases with warmth.
