The situation in the area of Velyka Novosilka, Donetsk region, is becoming increasingly tense. Russian occupation forces continue to attempt to break through the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, using new tactics and concentrating significant forces in the area. Analysis of data from the DeepState project and military experts highlights the complexity and strategic importance of this settlement.
The main fighting is concentrated between the villages of Rivnopil and Makarivka , where Russian forces are trying to find weak spots in the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The occupiers are using infantry assault groups on motorcycles, armored vehicles, and trying to organize frontal attacks, which, however, have been unsuccessful.
To compensate for the setbacks, the Russians are trying to bypass the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces through Blagodatne . One such attempt was to penetrate the village of Novy Komar , which is an important logistical hub for Velikaya Novoselka. However, the Defense Forces quickly carried out a sweep, knocking the occupiers out of their occupied positions.
The enemy continues to try to gain a foothold in the captured territories. In the immediate vicinity of Velyka Novoselka, the occupiers are building advanced fortifications, filling these places with infantry.
DeepState analysts note that small groups of infantry continue to storm Ukrainian positions, trying to create constant pressure on the defenders. Meanwhile, the enemy is increasing the concentration of forces in this direction, trying to create conditions for a semi-encirclement of the city.
According to military expert Serhiy Zgurets, Velyka Novosilka is a key stronghold and an important logistical hub for the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defense line in the region. Control over this settlement allows for the provision of supplies, effective defense, and stability in neighboring areas.
In early December, it became known that the situation near Velyka Novoselka had escalated: two of the three roads leading to the settlement were under Russian control. This creates a threat of semi-encirclement, which could significantly complicate the defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Despite the efforts of the occupiers, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are demonstrating high resilience and effectively stopping the enemy's advance. However, the continuation of intensive assaults and attempts to block logistical routes require additional resources and efforts to strengthen defensive positions.
