In London, there were important negotiations, during which the Ukrainian and the American sides have agreed with a list of 22 specific actions that can underpin the diplomatic end of the war with Russia. This was announced on Fox News by a special representative of the US President Kit Kellogg.
According to Kellog, some proposals provoked resistance in the Ukrainian delegation, but the parties reached constructive consent:
"The Ukrainians did not like all [points], but it is normal. Negotiations are always a compromise. We are comfortable with where we are now."
Kellogo also commented on the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov about the allegedly inevitable victory of Russia, calling it "far from reality."
"The Russian Federation does not win this war. They have lost hundreds of thousands of soldiers, moving on meters, not kilometers. Ukrainians are heroically fighting on their land."
The American diplomat noted that the situation on the front and international politics has changed significantly - Ukraine strengthens positions, and European allies are ready to intensify support, even without US participation.
"Europeans under the leadership of Britain and France are ready to take the initiative if needed. Russia must understand the change of circumstances."
According to Kellog, there is no military solution to war. Both parties have to take the need for negotiations.
"The only way is diplomatic. The Ukrainians have already understood it after last week. And the Russians have to understand it."
On April 23, a meeting was held in London between representatives of Ukraine, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and the United States. It was not without political complications - US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Representative Steve Witcoff refused to participate. However, Kellogo stressed that the results of the negotiations were "positive".
