There are no longer ATACMS army tactical missiles in the Arsenal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which have previously been transmitted by the United States. According to the Associated Press, the reserves of these missiles were completely exhausted at the end of January.
The US official and the Ukrainian deputy from the Defense Committee confirmed that the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces for the use of ATACMS are currently absent. According to US officials, Washington gave Ukraine less than 40 such missiles, and their reserves ended faster than expected.
At the same time, the US administration has repeatedly emphasized that the number of ATACMS transferred will be limited, since US military strategists consider other types of weapons more effective for Ukraine.
Since the beginning of their supply, Ukraine has used ATACMS to defeat the military facilities of the Russian Federation, including ammunition, air base and command centers. In December 2024, The New York Times reported that rocket reserves were already almost exhausted, and US and NATO representatives urged the Ukrainian side to use them more selectively.
After on November 17, only dozens of rockets were left on the territory of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Russian Federation. Even then, experts warned that without new deliveries, this type of weapons would end quickly.
The issue of further supply of ATCMS remains open. Donald Trump's administration is not at present to increase assistance to Ukraine, focusing on possible peace talks. At the same time, NATO allies, including Germany and France, can compensate for the loss of ATACMS by other types of long -range weapons.
Nevertheless, the lack of ATACMS can affect Ukraine's ability to strike deep strokes on the opponent's rear objects, which is key to containing Russian offensive operations.
