Older: Peace in Ukraine is possible already in the summer, but only on the conditions of Kiev

The UK Prime Minister Kir Starmer said that ceasefire in Ukraine can be reached by the summer if Russia will certainly agree to peace talks. In a comment to The Telegraph , he stressed that any peaceful settlement should be based on conditions that are first and foremost organized by Ukraine and not be a temporary compromise.

According to the head of the British government, the main thing is to avoid a situation where Russia simply gets a pause for regrouping forces:

“I do not want to see a temporary ceasefire because it will only give Russia a return. They have done it before and will do it again, ”the old man said.

The Prime Minister repeated his call to the United States to provide security guarantees for the Western Coalition, which could maintain stability in Ukraine. At the same time, the British government has now abandoned the idea of a large -scale military contingent, considering the departure of instructors instead. According to The Times , this solution is explained by the high risk of safety and changing the focus of support-now the maintenance of the Armed Forces, Rearmed and Air-Navy is now focused.

The older stressed that only Kyiv has the right to determine which compromises are acceptable.

"It is not for others to decide on behalf of Ukraine," he said.

The prime minister also noted that the world has entered the intensive phase of negotiations, and although the final decision depends on both sides, Britain hopes that Moscow will begin to show greater flexibility:

"We hope that Russia will agree to reduce its" red lines "for the sake of real and stable peace."

Against the background of London's statements, the Kremlin continues to voice ultimatums. Moscow demands from Ukraine the withdrawal of troops from the partially occupied territories - Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions - which Russia considers "its" in accordance with the results of illegal pseudo -referendums.

Despite the difficult situation, the official London remains in the position that peace in Ukraine is possible - but only if it is respectful for its sovereignty.
